Cumberland@Home was developed by Cumberland County Schools as a remote-learning experience that allows students to continue learning beyond the walls of the classroom during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Note regarding Governor Cooper’s Executive Order: Executive Order 121 defines public schools as an essential operation, which may remain open, provided that the social distancing requirements are observed to the greatest extent possible. Members of the general public (parents, students) may access public schools in order to obtain “goods and services” provided by the schools. The order goes on to state that it “is consistent with and does not amend or supersede prior Executive Orders regarding the closure of public schools.” We understand that the last part means that this latest order does not contravene the provisions of the earlier orders allowing meal distribution and facilitation of distance learning. Of course, this is a fast-moving situation, and if we receive any other interpretation or guidance, we will update you.
